A faster, safer and higher-capacity, redundant optic fibre connection has been built between Budapest and Vienna by Invitech Hungary in co-operation with the international business division of the A1 Telekom Austria Group, it was announced yesterday.

IT Services Hungary (ITSH) will invest 4.6 billion forints (EUR 14.9m) at its bases in the Hungarian cities of Szeged, Debrecen and Pécs, creating 360 jobs. The government is supporting the investment with a 650 million forint grant, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said.

IBM will enlarge its Székesfehérvár IT service headquarters with an investment worth HUF 3.2 billion, and based on an individual decision, the Government will provide HUF 1.1 billion for the project. As a result, 410 new jobs will be created, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced on Wednesday in Székesfehérvár.
